Though I was only six years old, I knew that Jesus loves little girls like me. Attending Catholic Church with my parents and relatives, I thought the statutes that filled the cathedral could save me. But, of course, this was before I met Jesus.
I met Jesus through The Salvation Army. It happened when I was about seven years old. I remember asking Jesus to come into my life. But it wasn’t until I was eighteen that I really understand my relationship with God when I became very sick.
From the time I fell sick until now I’ve trusted every aspect of my life with God. I learned the power of prayer through daily devotions and the reading of my Bible. I sing songs that praise His name all throughout the day, and I become more intentional at meditating on His work. I am most happy when I find myself with other people who believe in Jesus, and when I am involved in church activities and other activities that uplift the lives of others.
Today, it is comforting to know that I am a child of God; and that He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for my sin and the sin of anyone who believes only Jesus can make a sacrifice for their sins in order to spend eternity with God. I am more than ever determined to live according to His Word, the Bible, and to share His love with others. I am more convicted than ever before that I need Jesus to help me each day of my life in order to remain true to the Word of God.
