My earliest recollection of attending church services was before my mother passed away when I was yet a little boy of about seven years old. The only thing I remember about it was that it was a Catholic Church in our village. But this was soon to be changed not more than a year later.
I met Jesus through The Salvation Army. It happened when I was about eight years old. I remember asking Jesus to come into my life. Ever since that time I’ve always been aware of God’s presence in my life. I can remember thinking about and thanking Him for providing for my physical and spiritual needs.
As I grew up in the Christian family God has placed me in, I became more aware of His presence in my life. I learned the power of prayer through daily devotions and the reading of my Bible. I sang songs that praise His name all throughout the day, and I became more intentional at meditating on His work. I am most happy when I find myself with other people who believe in Jesus, and when I am involved in church activities and other activities that uplift the lives of others.
Today, it is comforting to know that I am a child of God; and that He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for my sin and the sin of anyone who believes only Jesus can make a sacrifice for their sins in order to spend eternity with God. I am more than ever determined to live according to His Word, the Bible, and to share His love with others. I am more convicted than ever before that I need Jesus to help me each day of my life in order to remain true to the Word of God.
